Documenting lasting memories during your most difficult times

Hudson Valley Infant, Child, and Family Photographer, specializing in Bereavement and Remembrance Images

If you are a family searching for a compassionate photographer to document final memories during a difficult time or tragedy, I encourage you to reach out to me to discuss how to best create a legacy you will never forget. Losing a child or family member is a profound and unimaginable loss. Having photographs to memorialize your most precious loved one, and the final days or moments spent, can create a space of comfort during a time of immense grief.

Prior to owning my photography business, I have 12 years of experience as a registered nurse, specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing. My work background exposed me to multiple angles of dying and death, grief, and coping with the family unit. Specifically for NICU, it was common practice to create memory boxes for families which included photographs, a lock of hair, a hospital bracelet (just to name some examples.) Having a tangible memory of your loved one, whether an infant or older adult can provide comfort during your most difficult days. Although I am on a hiatus from nursing, my desire to help families that are going through difficult times did not stop. I still feel the pull, and the calling to use my photography to create for these families…to somehow use my medium to provide that sense of comfort that is so desperately sought after.

Below are a few ways that photography can be a powerful tool of remembrance:

  • A loved one is in hospice care and you are looking to document their final days. I translate emotion into your images, using shadows and light to create dynamic representations of their legacy. My focus is less on physical appearance, and more on connection and emotions that are felt between the subject and their family. My goal is for you to look back on these images as a tool of remembrance of their life and the impact that they have had upon you and others. While the reality of physical decline is there, I try to create images that show your loved one in the most reverent way.

  • You have a child or family member going through a battle of illness and want to document moments during good quality of life. Whether a cancer fight, or other illness with a poor prognosis, documenting a family member how they want to be remembered, is a true gift. We collaborate to create a magical and meaningful outdoor session (or indoors, if needed), that focuses on connection, light, and love.

  • You have an impending infant loss, and would like documentation of your first and final moments with your baby. Your birth and baby are real. That love and connection can never be replaced. And the memory will live on in your heart forever. If you are dealing with an impending infant loss, and would like to create a memory collection of your precious baby, please reach out, as I would love to help you.

While above are examples, I believe every person’s situation is unique. If you would like moments documented that focus on bereavement or memorializing a legacy, contact me so we can discuss together the best fit for your family.

Sending light and love…xo

I wholeheartedly believe in the power of authentic documentation. Our stories and truths are not only a gift for ourselves, but also through the generations, becoming treasured keepsakes as proof of our place and time. My passion lies in storytelling that focuses on your present moments. Whether our adventures take us deep into the Hudson Valley, high in the Catskill Mountains, or within the comfort of your home, it is always about where you are meant to be and where you feel the most alive.
