How to Choose the Best Photographer for Your Littlest Family Member
There is no shortage of newborn photographers, as well as different styles of photography to help you document your new arrival. From posed, to studio, to at home sessions, there is much to consider. I am here to outline for you what I do and don’t do, to help you make the best decision for your family!
What I Do:

At Home Sessions. Part of my photography philosophy is to document honest, timeless portraits for your family. I always say, these photos aren’t just for you, but for your kids and grandkids, and so on! How wonderful and special to showcase these newborn photos in the home you took your baby home to. That, in itself, holds so much significance and nostalgia. And for those who aren’t sure about having their home photographed? No worries! My job is to create magical portraits, so I will work with you leading up to our session to make sure we focus on the right spaces.

Focus on emotion and connection. It would be hard to think of a more emotionally charged moment, than welcoming your baby into the world. Capturing that emotion in your photographs, and the new connection that is being established is one of my main goals when working with you!
What I Don’t Do:

You won’t see me overly pose your newborn. Do I think babies in baskets are cute? Sure! But, to me, I don’t want to force my baby into one. I find natural posing and positions much more beautiful in photographs, and I incorporate that into all my sessions. Babies are beautiful as they are, and photographing them with a sentimental object, clothing, or blankie, makes an image much stronger than a recycled prop.

Create cookie cutter sessions that all look the same. Every family is unique… your dynamic, your energy, interests, and hobbies. I learn about your family before we work together, and from that, create a custom session unique to you. I never want my sessions to all blend together, but rather each one tell your own personal story.
