Creating Holiday Photos For Your Kids
The holidays with family are always such a memorable time of year. There are so many ways to creatively document your kids, to capture that wonderment and bottle up all of that excitement. Having those memories documented to look back on when they are older will be invaluable. Here are my favorite tips and tricks for photographing your kids!
-
Have your camera (or iphone) handy at all times! For me, natural expressions make for the best images. Having your camera handy at a moments notice will ensure you never miss a moment. Especially when you may be just taking those decorations out to setup! The novelty of the moment will translate into your photographs

Think of ideas ahead of time that are especially special to your kids- Traditions, pastimes, or activities. If you have a plan, you will know what feels memorable to capture. At the end of the season, you can put all your images together and make a special album.
-
Use light creatively. Whether it is Christmas lights on the tree, a drive by display, or natural window light, light can create a mood of your image. Using light the right way will take a bland image, and make it powerful and emotive.
Best of luck capturing all of the best of the holidays with your families!
Have fun!
