I began my journey with professional family photography somewhat unexpectedly. It was during COVID, I had just had my second baby, and I was contemplating my next move of going back to hospital nursing or staying home with my kids. As much as I loved both of those things, intuition took over and I forged a different path.
Always feeling drawn to my creative and empathetic side, I felt a calling to the art of photography. At first, I felt insecure about doing it for other people. Would people like what I did? How would this work? But after much support from family and friends, as well as more down time during the pandemic, the foundation of my little business began to take shape.
During the early days, I spent many hours creating a website (with no tech background), doing portfolio sessions, and defining the brand I wanted to become. Not thinking anyone would really book with me during the pandemic, I didn’t know what to expect. However, slowly inquiries started coming in and things began to take shape.
What started as a small venture without much expectation, slowly began to grow. By 2023, I was working enough to be considered full time. Fast forward to 2025, and I am still incredibly lucky to say my schedule remains busy and fulfilling. Most days are still pinch me moments; that I was able to take a vision, and grow it into something so many people connect to. I feel so grateful.
I reside in Red Hook, NY with my husband of 11 years, and our three children. My nostalgia for moments with them continues to be my number one inspiration for when I work with families. Connecting with so many different families always makes the work feel new and fresh! My past background as a neonatal ICU nurse for 12 years also allows me to view the family experience from a unique viewpoint.
I believe every story is worth telling. No matter what season of life you find yourself in- whether happy, sad, challenging or triumphant. It is your one, beautiful life. I would love the opportunity to tell your story!
