Lifestyle Family Photography Through the Years
Lifestyle family photography was a genre I was always drawn to. To me, when I look back at photographs over the years and the ones that carry the most weight, it is the ones where everyone looks and feels like themselves. It is about the real laughter, real emotions, and real memories. It is hard to think about how to really get that genuine emotion while a “photographer” is taking your picture. And so I have developed an approach over the years that has worked; where everyone can feel safe and relaxed, and so that we can capture all of that for you.
When I developed this business, I knew I wanted to work with newborns and new mothers because of my NICU background. I started my From Bump to Birth collection, which allows me time to photograph both your pregnancy and newborn experiences. What has been an absolute joy is seeing these families grow over the years. Whether we meet during your pregnancy, or when your kids are older, being trusted with your family’s memories over the years is incredibly meaningful for me.
I think what families appreciate most from working with me is my laidback approach. I focus less on posing, and more on composition and lighting. If I overly pose you, the photos come out stiff and orchestrated. But if I place you in beautiful light, and let you do your thing, the result is magic!
Being trusted all these years by so many repeat families is an honor! The ultimate goal is to continue to see you year after year; get to know you and your kids, and develop a relationship.
