What is lifestyle family photography, and is it right for me?
You may have heard the term “lifestyle photography” but never fully understood what it meant. Simply put, the art aims to capture your lifestyle, as it is. There is direction from your photographer, but instead of posing clients, your photographer’s goal is to prompt and engage you and your family to illicit natural reactions. Your result? Natural, authentic imagery that is true to your family.
Lifestyle photography isn’t for everyone. Many people enjoy posed photographs, or prefer smaller galleries of a few poses. The way I work my lifestyle sessions is a bit different. I think of myself as your family’s storyteller. My galleries are large, and reflect the story of your family that I was privileged to be a part of for our time together. I am always looking for the beauty and simply honesty in your family. I pay attention to details, nuances, looks and expressions of emotion. It all intertwines to become part of your story.
I am based in Red Hook, NY, but work all around Dutchess, Putnam, Westchester, Ulster, and Columbia Counties. I also travel to Connecticut and Massachusetts. If you are interested in me being the storyteller for your family, I would love to connect with you!
