Your Genuine Family Photography Session with Teenagers
Hudson Valley and Westchester Family Lifestyle Photography
Many of my photos focus on families with smaller children, but that doesn’t mean authentic and beautiful images can’t be captured once your little ones have grown up. In fact, capturing children as they grow is one of the most beautiful things to document! Children change so much, and so quickly, so to have tangible photographic memories of their journey of growing up is sentimental and special. I wanted to share my approach, for anyone curious how to capture these memories even with the physical and emotional changes that kids go through!
My session with a family with older children, will definitely run differently than a session with smaller kids. Older children follow directions much better than little ones, so I will provide a lot of direction during sessions! There will be more posing, and prompting than say a session with toddlers, but my focus on families with older kids is always on connection and emotion. I have all of my families fill out a pre-session questionnaire, where my goal is to get to know your family and your children a little bit better. What is their personality? What makes them excited and inspired? What special interests are shared? And by this information, I come up with a customized experience. During our time together, I really try to connect with your kids using this information, so that they become comfortable with me and ease into the session. I always keep things as real and authentic as possible, to establish the best connections!
As families grow, we become more sentimental, as our kids grow into adulthood. I really try to capture special moments between families that feel real and genuine, and authentic to YOUR family! I am always in contact with you leading up to our session to make sure your thoughts and feelings are reflected in your photos.
