The Magic of Natural At Home Newborn Photography
Prior to pursuing photography on a professional level, I was a neonatal intensive care nurse for 12 years. To say I have a passion to serve mothers, their babies, and their families, may be a bit of an understatement. I have always been drawn to that bond, the connection between a mother and her family unit. And even when I was working as a nurse in the hospital, I was always drawn to those magical big moments that occurred. Helping a mother hold her 3lb baby for the first time, assisting a new mother to breastfeed, or setting up a father for skin to skin contact with his premature baby. There were times I wish I could freeze a moment, and have that mother or father see what I saw. The pure love in their eyes as they held their babies, caught their glances, smelled their new smells. I don’t believe in a lot of fanfare or props around newborn photos. The wonderment, emotion, and love felt those first days and weeks, is absolutely magical. And that is what my sessions are centered around. It doesn’t matter what your house looks like; the focus is on the connection and your baby. Do you have questions about a session like this?
