The Orchard Blossom Season is Coming!
Fairytale portraits for your Family in the Hudson Valley
The orchard bloom in the Hudson Valley is one of the most magical times of year. Apple, pear, and apricots are just a few of the colorful blooms to expect. Last year, I had the joy of documenting families, children, and maternity sessions all among the blossoms- it was pure magic!
I am lucky enough to have access to a beautiful private orchard that puts on quite the show. The colors range from cream to pale pink, and then to a more vibrant pink/purple color. The trick is timing it just right. Once bloomed, the flowers last in total about 2 weeks.
The orchard is a magical backdrop to any of your big milestone moments- whether it is your growing family or pregnancy experience. If you are interested in planning once of these, timing is key. Reaching out sooner rather than later is recommended to guarantee your spot, especially since the season is so short.
The first flowers to bloom are the white/ cream colored ones. This is a great choice for families looking for a more neutral, dreamy backdrop. The pink/ purple blooms come next, and make quite the statement. Be sure to time for those if you’d like more color! If you do choose the pink/purple blooms, I recommend to coordinate styling for a beautiful look. You can choose to stick with a pink/ purple palette and add in some texture or patterns. Alternatively, if you choose layered neutrals with some texture, the pink backdrop will stand out even more. It is really personal preference, and both are magical!
