Preparing for your in home newborn photography session doesn’t have to be stressful! I am here to share all the best tips to make sure your session not only is smooth, but also memorable and fun. Whether you are expecting, or have already welcomed your baby, my primary focus is to give you the very best memories of this special time in your lives. My approach is natural and laidback, with the ultimate goal of capturing authentic moments of connection and bonding with your new little one!
My newborn sessions take place in your home, in your safe and comfortable space. There are a few reasons I choose to work in your home, as opposed to you coming to me. I am a firm believer that your home contains countless bits of nostalgia and memory. When you look back at your photos, they should feel like your personal diary and story from a moment in time. The environment you are in plays a big role in this.
Additionally, you don’t need to take your baby out of the house, and risk any germ exposure in those first days and weeks. When I come to your home I will always wash my hands, and continue to wear a mask for an extra layer of protection.
When it comes to planning your home newborn session, I have you covered! After booking, I send you a comprehensive newborn guide that goes over everything- from how to prep your home to recommendations for best styling. When I arrive to your home, I will take a walk around and recommend the best spaces for photographs. Light primarily influences my decision, but there are many factors to consider. Most commonly used spaces are nurseries, bedrooms, and common living areas.
In the weeks leading up to your session, I will check in, and am here for whatever questions may come up. I strongly believe documenting memories and moments doesn’t need to be stressful or forced. It should feel like you! If you don’t feel connected to posed studio newborn photography, I highly encourage you to consider at home newborn photography. Documenting connection is one of my favorite things. It is an amazing experience to be a part of!
