The Best Activities For Families this Fall

The Hudson Valley in the fall is arguably one of the best times to visit! Whether you find yourself here on a quick getaway, long vacation, or just for family photos, it is worth exploring. There are countless seasonal activities to keep your family busy. Here are some of my favorites!
- Rose Hill Farm, Red Hook NY : Rose Hill Farm is a historical property that was recently reimagined, while keeping respect to the original features of the farm. Now, you can wander for apple and pumpkins, hang by the bonfire, stay for dinner at one of their delicious food trucks. They also have a cidery/ bar that serves drinks made from their farm produce. - Kesicke Farm, Red Hook NY: For a quintessential fall festival experience, perfect for your kids at any age, Kesicke farm is a must! Pumpkin patches, hayrides, corn mazes, and delicious cider donuts. Go early especially on the weekends, as it gets crowded! Open end of September to the end of October. http://www.kesickefarms.com/
- Sleepy Hollow, NY: The birthplace of Washington Irving- this town embraces their halloween roots. Coming here in October is a treat! Sleepy Hollow has something for everyone: haunted hayrides, farmers markets, live music, street fairs, a famous Halloween 10K run (costumes welcome!), Halloween parade, and of course, the Headless Horseman! https://visitsleepyhollow.com/halloween-in-sleepy-hollow/
- Lake Minnewaska/ Mohonk Mountain Preserve: For an outdoor loving family, these are my favorite hiking spots! Both are next to each other and peak foliage occurs around mid October but can vary by season. You can take a very easy hike or opt for something more challenging. Very kid friendly and incredible views!
