A Hudson Valley Guide by Town
All You Need to Know
The Hudson Valley is a special place all year round, and there is no shortage of beautiful places to see. If you find yourself passing through, there are a few towns that have my heart, and are must see destinations!
Beacon, NY: No doubt, you’ve heard of Beacon. This town has seen a rebirth in the last ten- fifteen years and is now one of the top locations to see in the Hudson Valley. It sits right along the train line, so has easy access from NYC. Beacon is filled with charming restaurants, shops, and art galleries
Hudson, NY: This gem of a town is outside the Catskills. It has gorgeous inns, art galleries, and restaurants. The history is what really impresses, because most of the town still has it’s original charm, just modernly reimagined.
Rhinebeck, NY: Rhinebeck sits close to Red Hook, and is the town I have been to the most. What I love most about Rhinebeck is their restaurants. There is something truly for everybody. French, Indian, Thai, Middle Eastern, American – the list goes on! The Beekman Arms is specifically a must visit, as it is the oldest inn in America. Be sure to head into the Tavern side where you feel like you are transported back in time.
Woodstock, NY: Woodstock has so much character and personality. Not only are their restaurants amazing ( try Silvia’s), but the new age, cosmic undertone makes for a magical visit. Get a tarot reading, try some crystals, and enjoy a beautiful experience!
These are some of my favorites, but there is so much more! What makes the Hudson Valley really special, is that you can have world class cuisine, and then go for a hike in some of the most magical woodland forests and mountains around. It is overflowing with diversity, and something for everybody.
