So you have been thinking about wanting to do family photos for a while- but your worried about your young kids… how they will hold up… will they smile… will my husband be on board… will it be worth it? I am here to let you in on how a family session works with me, from inquiry to gallery delivery. It doesn’t have to be hard or stressful. In fact, I love to provide my families with the easiest experience! Memories deserve to be remembered, stories need to be told, and everyone should have beautiful family photos to display in their homes to remember this season of life.
From the first time you reach out to me and we connect, I can answer any questions or concerns you may have. I initially send everyone a customized booking guide that explains all about me, what I offer, and why I would love to work with you! After you decide that we are the right fit, we choose a session and a date that works best. I shoot seven days a week and at sunrise and sunset. I have preferred spots nearby to Red Hook, NY that showcase natural beauty and surroundings, however I believe location is so important to your story! So if you have a more sentimental place, we can absolutely use that for your backdrop. From there, after we secure your date, I send to you my comprehensive guide to your session. I have worked meticulously to cover details that I know matter, to keep you in the know and make the experience all about you! Tips such as styling, FAQs, and gallery questions are answered.
I always connect to my families prior to our session to get to know you, your loved ones, and what things make you unique. I want your photos to feel personal and sentimental. I listen to everything you tell me, and incorporate these elements during our time together. I try to figure out what your kids love to do, outdoor games they like to play. We really do a lot of laughing, take in the moment. and make a lot of memories together. This all becomes the visual story of YOU, that I just love to document.
Once we get to the date of your session, it’s all fun from here! I try to get all my posed shots first, because if your kids are anything like mine, attention spans can run short! Kids are typically at their best in the beginning (in my experience), but I tailor each session to your individual family.
I specialize in lifestyle photography, and it really is just that. If your child is having an off day, or in your mind you think the session isn’t going great, take my word, just let it go, and be as present as you can in the moment. Even though it may seem like a crazy zoo at the time, I promise your photos and family are pure gold! I see the beauty of your journey you are on, capturing your realities, with a magical spin. If your kids need to take a break, or we need to adjust things, it’s all good! I’m very laid back, and want my families to be too. As long as you stay present in the moment, and just love on your babies- it will be perfect!
After your session is completed, I give sneak peaks within days. Because just like you, I always am anxious to see the magic that was made! I deliver full galleries in 3-4 weeks, providing high resolution, professionally hand edited photos via a downloadable online gallery. I also give you info if you would like to print your photos or purchase wall art.
When you choose to work with me, I choose your family right back. I take my job and responsibility to heart. Not only do I want you to be happy with your experience with me, but I want you to come away with a feeling. A feeling of love, happiness, and ease. A feeling of joy- that we created something so unique and special, that can never be re created again.
